Not a Safe Time
Winter winds start blowing snow on the road
and icy patches make the asphalt slick,
sending cars careening into the ditch.
Their tires spinning, cars end up in the ditch
though city trucks apply salt to the road;
for there's no grip; the pavement's still slick.
Black ice and slushy snow pave the streets slick,
stranding vehicles all along the ditch;
it's not a safe time to be on the road.
The road is slick; you'll skid into a ditch.
