Why I Abhor AI Generated Poems, Sponsor JCB Brul, 6/12/2025

It is a sad shame when a person uses AI on a poetry site! Poetry comes from your experience, your emotions, your words (even the first and simple writings). Creativity is not delivered by a computer...that is the point. Guess what?! We are not robots, but human beings. We are original and yes, we learn from each other. Why do people want to win so badly that they cheat!? Plus there is laziness in using AI. You don't want to try. Integrity, morality, humanity is not a machine. Could say more. Others will.

'cheat-bot' is spot-on, methinks. AI cheats everyone involved in any creative endeavor in which it 'engages.' Nuke it, before it destroys us all. ~ gw

totally agree with every word Kim, the subject will rumble on in fact i have a poem on AI to post today, the sad irony is admin published a book of AI poetry and its supposed to be a site for people to WRITE poetry and condition 7 is NOT to post AI poetry - go figure that one. if folk are posting AI poetry they are cheating themselves and deceiving others . I may write poop but at least its all my own work, write on! hugs jan xx

I guess I just don't see what all the fuss is about Kim. I wrote a blog last year titled: AI Poetry - Much ado about nothing. People cheat on the taxes. Students cheat on exams. Politicians lie with every breath. Clergymen are frequently involved in scandals. Hackers steal your identity. It goes on and on. For me, my own integrity is all that matters

The contests here are peer sponsored and have little relevance in the poetry world at large. Still, no one likes a cheater

For a contest. I hang onto my own integrity, as well. I guess the to do, has to do with entering contests. We shouldn’t have to compete against cheaters, but as you have said, they are everywhere. I enjoy writing. God bless you, dear one!
