Northern Sea

" Northern Sea " Sailors a'sea in latitudes north~ Aloft do look with eyes whet keen~ Naught but desire to sight back or forth~ Such that might through darkest night be seen~ So it may be as winds thus prevail~ Above silent heavens great bear does lurk~ Yet as well in distance dark sea sirens may wail~ Such feeling o'wonder these sailors mightn't shirk~ Yet while 'tis true for all who set a'sea~ That whatever may come may not be o'choice~ Aloft in those heavens heard oft a plea~ Risen from past ventures yet with uncertain voice~ Tales o'men whose times were thus bold~ Given to wanderin' those depths o'that north~ Told thus so within folds o'breeze cold~ Amidst & amongst stars a'dazzle back & forth~ Listen well do these lads... rightly such so~ For into these tales their very hearts do so go~ Men under sails spread full to spring's wind~ Caring naught o'glory nor o'them may have sinned~ For under such stars all do so stand~ In manner quite different then those o'the land~ Respect o'past... present & future~ 'Tis such to which is for these then that lure~ One day in a land or on a sea far far off~ May thusly be told or heard from aloft~ Tales of adventures born a'such sky~ As may only be seen from sailor's keen eye~ A'twinkle then so on darkest o'nights~ Songs o'sirens... maidens & maids~ Ribald encounters... wildest o'frights~ Within such folds o'heavens delights~ Naught but treasure when seen from a'deck~ Minds a'wanderin' yet oft in check~ Do so then learn such riches are free~ These who have chosen a'wanderin' such sea~ Darkest o'dark nights ... spring in near bloom~ Sailors under stars fillin' heaven's room~ Clouds high aloft feathery soft~ Then best heard sweet siren's wail aloft~ O'er windsong... heard through spring's gales~ She's a'singing so softly o'sailors northern sea tales~ SeaWolf ©
