Northern Girl Blues

With the autumn
like the trees
I turn
and shed my graces
bare
but for mustered
reservations
for a long nights
depression
that's as faithful
as the seasons

Hi Maureen, I've read several of your poems and I love they way you convey so much with so few words. Being from New England I especially like this one and can definitely relate

With the climate changing I have new appreciation for winter which helps, that and with my own body changing, the summer's heat I used to relish I can't handle anymore lol! The lamp is indeed a godsend :) thanks dear, a lovely day to you!

For me it was far worse before I recognized the pattern and the cause, just losing my mind; now I can map crazy on the calendar which makes it so much more manageable ;) Thank you so much Andrea, will check out your poem :) xomo!

I COULD FEEL THE SADNESS AND BLUES FALLING DOWN.. Autumn leads into Winter and Winter to some is a hard , cold, dreary and sad time of year. The very reason that I decided over 45 years ago-that I'd not ever live up North. Great poem my friend.. A fav..

The only thing I like about winter is spring ;) I toy but I would probably miss the seasons (she says as her mind drifts she can taste the salt on the warm air as the waves lap...Sorry about that, thank you Robert :)

What a poem Maureen. A long nights depression is the best description I've heard in a long while. Sad and wonderful write.

Thank you James, it really is the long nights depression, even working outside I couldn't get enough sun, the steep angle of the winter sun doesn't provide the full spectrum. I'm basking in my sunlight lamp glow right now :) A lovely day to you! xomo
