North Carolina

North Carolina

A young woman of North Carolina,
Danced on tables at a down-town diner.
Serving Chilli-dogs and fries,
To leering men she despise,
This Lady deserves something much finer.

More of a somber moment than a giggle but image loaded! Was it really just a diner or did it have blacked out windows? Well, that's irrelevant. Your poem gave me pause for thought - I like it when that happens. All the best ... CayCay

Excellent limerick - stay off the table tops if you take leering glances personally. Great characterization.

I love how you rhymed carolina with finer. It's how I think some people really pronounce it with an r on the end! Cute one, Kevin.

Nothing could be a finer than a day in Carolina.... la-ti-da... Thanks for the example for what shapes up as a great contest. Best wishes, Gershon

I feel like I am this waitress in this diner, thinking "what are we doing?" Cute!
