Norma Jean

If I had the choice to start over again What would I rather have been A rocket scientist, a famous writer Or a stand-up like Norma Jean! Must've been fun to make 'em laugh To make people giggle and smile To help them forget life's many struggles If only for a very short while Now that's what I call a fun type job But I'm sure it had its down side Like sleeping all day and up all night Could make a person bleary eyed! Must've been hard in New York City Trying to please a tough crowd Her comedic skills are evident today When you read her poetry out loud! So instead of a comic, I became an artist Kinda similar in a way don't ya think Both creative and unique occupations Guess we both ended up in the pink! © Jack Ellison 2013 Norma Jean was a good friend on another poetry site!

No need to apologize dear Donna! Glad doggie is recovering well! BTW I'm taking a break until July or August! Been under the weather lately with the flu, bronchitis and sinusitis! Besides that, we've sold our house so we'll be busy packing and stuff. But as Arnold said... "I'LL BE BACK!!! Love ya Donna girl! Hugs, Jake xoxoxox

I think I've found my niche just playing around with stories about our family (Hubby, Dragon, Trolls, Kids, animals) and assorted Crazy's... like Jack Ellison... LOL... Just Teasing!... Couldn't help myself... Bad Girl... Bad Girl... Chuckle... See... you brought my smile back!... I hate it when you go away... Then dragon expects more out of me... and we get lonely... without your poems and comments to write about and bound off of.

PS. You said you wanted to hear those freedom bells... so Dragon flew off and got into trouble looking for them... so I wrote 'Fire and Brimstone'. Inspired just by you... LOL

Norma and I got along really really well! However since joining Poetry Soup, I have sadly lost track of her! She was a kind and entertaining writer! Cheers, Jack!

She sounds like a very fun person! It would be nice to have known her! She sounds like a great and inspiring person! You have written a nice tribute to her with this tender write my friend! I really loved reading this enlightening poem this morning, you have delighted me by talking of her humor, I just wish you would have given us an excerpt of her poetry, I would have loved to see her humor! Did she rub off onto you my friend? You are a hilarious poet yourself! Great Work!!
