Noise To Entice -The Noise Contest

We stood at the side of the pond Listening to a noise so loud was absurd, Looked into the murky waters beyond, No sight, just this very loud sound we heard. Talking to the locals who laughed out loud Made it more of a mystery beyond measure So every night we would gather like a small crowd Trying to fathom what fish or insect intruded our leisure Then one local whispered in my ear Was a tiny insect smaller than a grain of rice The guilty one whose noise we heard A water boatman, rubbing his genitals on his stomach to entice.
