Noble Knight

Noble Knight Noble knight, noble knight Shining in armor, reflecting bright, Why do you sit on your steed unaware Without intervention to tyranny unfair Don’t you know what’s happening? Fight! Noble knight, noble knight Sitting in armor of might Have you the power to help a poor man Against corruption, hatred to stand? Why do you run? Why take you flight? Noble knight, noble knight Burning with valor alight How do you tolerate hatred abound Or give to evil the hearts of those around You? Can’t you stop this evil blight? Noble knight, noble knight Drawing your sword with intention forthright Why do you bluff when evil doth reign? Why, with your skills does your sword feign Action, when clearly it has no bite? Noble knight, noble knight Fighting in armor, tarnished despite Care and love and honor to hone A blade of hope, of faith, yet disown Thy life to those who thy living spite? Noble knight, noble knight The sign of valor is thy armor’s plight If it shines as gold with the sun Then it’s very purpose has been undone For it’s never been tested in battle slight. Noble knight, noble knight Leave here! Leave our sight! For peasants with sticks will do thy work And without thy privilege, we’ll not shirk The battle, though it gives great fright. Ignoble knight, fraud outright, Why still pretend to be upright? We know you are false, an unshaven lie Yourself only to serve, using armor to ply A living charletan, with honor your “rite”. Noble knight, Valor’s delight You are my son, without armor in sight A cloth of cotton your chest protects Your humble purpose your heart reflects For you I’ll give and for you I’ll fight.
