No Words-

From the first day as she laid in labor for nearly twelve hours and the pain she did endured…

after so much trouble, she did still manage somehow to welcome me into the world with the

biggest smile and a warm gentle kiss. As she lay there holding me for the first time and as

she did wipe away the tears of joy that flowed down her face. No words…were spoken. As I

too did my very best to reciprocate those same feelings with a sub tile smile which seem to

appear upon my tiny little face. No words…were spoken. As she watched me stumble and

bumble as I attempt to take my first step, as she held her breath with each step I took. A

gentle look of relief washed over her face, as I almost fell but somehow manage to grab hold

of the old coffee table. No words…were spoken. On my first day of school as I stood at the

glass door with my face pressed to the glass, screaming to the top of my lungs as she

walked away out of sight.

As she fought back tears and waved goodbye. Trying not to look back at my sad little tear

filled face. No words…were spoken. When I was sick, she would give me warm soup and my

favorite teddy bear. Then before she left the room, a gentle touch to let me know I would get

better. No words…were spoken. As she watched me walk across the stage, I could see the

pride in her face. A simple gesture of a thumb up was all she gave. No need for words, just

the same warm smile that welcome me into this world on her face.
