No Title, Yet - 73
I’d never really worried about meeting someone,
But the day that I met Selma, I understood why.
Everything about her told me that she was the one,
So I wasn’t about to let the chance pass me by.
No matter what the result was going to be,
I had to know if she may have felt the same way.
Two days ago, I asked her to go out with me.
When she said yes, she didn’t know she made my day.
I will mail a copy of this poem to myself
And leave it sealed in an envelope for the next year.
I will give it to her so she can see for herself
That, from the beginning, my feelings for her were clear.
