No More Cigs

I've got to tell you I've stopped smoking,
Not had one for nearly a year.
Some turn to eating lots of sweeties,
I turned to drinking more beer.

I have just got to say
It's getting easier each day.
I can now drink ten pints,
Without a wobble or a sway.

But I am putting on weight
Drinking all of this beer,
So I'm going to try whiskey,
Starting next year.

Eve Roper May 12, 2021 at 8:58 AM Great and well done poem, Simon. I saw you rarely drink, good for you. I do know the feeling and still remember how hard it was to stop smoking. It is 30+ for me; I walked a lot and took a lot of long hot baths and it help, staying away from those that smoked. Soup Mail Simon Hamill May 12, 2021 at 2:29 PM Hi Eve,thank you . Robert Pettit February 5, 2021 at 5:48 PM Good for you if you no longer smoke. However, it's not a good idea to substitute alcohol for tobacco. Beer and whiskey will prove to be more harmful. Nevertheless, this is a good write.
