Interesting one David, some try and fix it before it gets broken and end up breaking it, stare in a mirror for 15 minutes and you'll see the devil, I've not seen him yet lol Tom

Milton, bless his soul one of the first to comment as usual. That woman too, who had us all fooled. Forgiveness works when remorse is present, obviously there isn't much of it going on. Lol hope i'm not interfering as it may leave a bad taste, but something is really broken David you're doing your best to fix it. Cheers to that! Great entry !

Thanks Anaya, The great man himself Milton is on many of my past comments, yes there was another person there I thought I knew, but it’s ok now I know that real person, remorse was expressed and all is good with us, no you’re not interfering and always welcome to comment on my page, a lot of people have woken up to the existential threat of AI on this site, I’ll never be able to fix it, but the soup community can choke off users of AI, see Dilly’s new blog it has a real common sense approach to dealing with the problem, cheers David

Just returning to get my second take on the poem and it seems the mirror reveals all! How strange that comments can jump from pages they are blocked from right onto yours?! I respect your ability to remain resilient David. If the comments weren't deleted afterwards you'd have a dossier of abuse perpetrated against you. Being called a zealot and stating they knew it would be a name you wouldn't like was majorly offensive. You can't even have a discussion about the moon without interference...

It has been and is a scourge to poetry. AI might have valuable uses in other places, but are we supposed to start addressing AI as Sir Poet, the Bard? I think not. I agree with you, David. and to Dilly: the repetitiveness of blustering on and on could indeed cause nightmares, Dilly. Next thing we'll need is a bodyguard to make sure no one can tattoo our eyelids. Perhaps AI assistance would be good for that job.

Haha to the 'everywhere you turn' comment. Pretty sure the next step is waking up with something tattooed on my eyelids if it continues to escalate. It's rather intense!

Heya Lin, thanks for clearing that up as to why you have a certain individual blocked, and that is indeed the reason this episode was deflected over onto my page; As Dilly said below, a lot of people have been hurt and unfairly criticised because of certain blogs in the past week or so, it certainly wasn’t banter and turned into a kind of ‘anything goes’ at one stage, in my opinion AI poetry is a scourge on this site, and individuals using it should be taken to task by Admin, and thrown off the site if they continue using it, (No joking) cheers David

Dilly, there is a need to be vocal about any issue that affects the entire community, and you are among many who did just that. Let's call it a constructive meeting of the minds but you haven't been standing on a soap box commenting about it everywhere I turn and insulting those who are of a different opinion. That's not constructive, it's pernicious.

I was one of the vocal Lin but I honestly don't mind another opinion. It is indeed wasted breath trying to solve the issue (though there are distinct ways to make it worse). I'll just review poetry via my followers list or click on those I know I enjoy. The community of this site is the appeal and it's taken a battering in the name of Peace on Tour. I do recall the peaceful times though and it was such a lovely vibe.

Too much 'wasted' time spent on a problem with no immediate solution. It's a terrible intrusion that AI is being used by anyone to post and/or enter contests. I'm not pointing a finger in anyone's direction. I just want all the hoopla to stop. It's a poetry site, so, excuse the way I'm stating this but..."Just shut up and write." Aimed at those who spend more time complaining instead of contributing by posting.

It's the strangest thing Lin. I think you have to experience it yourself to really see the extent. Luckily the blog speaks for itself and so many people have been unfairly criticised, whether that is sponsors, contest winners, people who just don't agree, those who self publish books. Honestly the tirade was quite stomach turning. The group with no voice remained quiet throughout. I'm just glad I speak up for myself only. I'd be horrified to be associated with all that distress over someone wanting to give participation prizes. The funny thing is, they could start right now and just run that kind of contest. Funny how time is spent on criticising others and not making the change...

Hi Dilly and David. Did I miss another episode of 'For Whom the Bell Tolls?' He's blocked from commenting on my poetry because for years he's made hurtful and derogatory remarks to me. His MO is to reach those he wants to chastise anywhere he can, throwing a dagger comment then deleting it. It's nothing new, but it's also something none of us should have to deal with. Calling you a zealot was offensive, and I'm sorry anything like this ever happens in this community. It was much more peaceful here months ago. Dilly is right about the way you remain tactful and unaggressive while you're being harassed. I admire you for that.

You make a very valid point Dilly that comments that should be on Lins page, are redirected here, because of blocking issues, Being labelled a zealot was meant as derogatory, but nothing I couldn’t cope with, Then our banter being invaded on your brilliant moon poem, was bang out of order,I see all that was deleted too…

Interesting. For the record there's no sideshow David. From the very beginning I have not been for AI poetry. Not once. What I have been against is innocent people getting hurt. I know that flies over some heads but there you have it. Oh, regarding your poem, I believe there's not a human being alive that doesn't need at least some things "fixed." I recently posted a poem on peace. For what it's worth ..

Tommy we have had many arguments over the years even in a previous incarnation of yours, and they all ended the same way with you deleting the whole comment thread, as for blocking and unblocking me at least 4 times in the past, I am not a commodity or device that will be arbitrarily switched on and off when it suits you, by the way some of the comments you made on those blogs have hurt a lot of sponsors on this site, thanks for the nod I had no idea!

And therein lies the truth Tommy, how can I have faith in a person who has had me blocked and unblocked several times since you came back, I have never blocked you once, even when you came to my page and labelled me a zealot, (Did you care) if I was hurt, which I wasn’t, but someone else with a thinner skin may well have been and may have left PS because of same, then you deleted the whole thread to make it look like nothing happened, it’s very suspicious behaviour, I’m all for writing about peace Tom, but with no underlying agendas!

Damn! I was just off to bed it’s near midnight over here, so I’m not staying up late debating what constitutes a sideshow Tommy, The site is about poetry first and foremost, but all sorts of CrAzY stuff was going on on the blog page turning it into a sideshow, with regards to your peace poem you have me blocked, if it was potd I could have commented, I do agree with you that there’s not a human being alive that doesn’t need at least some things fixed, it won’t happen on the blog page!

I'd like to offer you a small token of my appreciation on such a perceptive critique on our nature. We project on others that which we refuse to see in the mirror. We have met the enemy and he is us. BTW, heard of Mark Gober? "The End To Upside Down Cosmos" do we really occupy no special place in the cosmos, while living out random and fundamentally meaningless existences?

That’s the beauty of eternity Anaya anything and everything can appear true at any given time, the wannabe scientist in me believes on the face of it, relativity explains most of the universe at a local level, but then breaks down when quantum physics and infinity is applied, let alone consciousness, yes indeed no GUT stands up to scrutiny, so still a place for a God, of course, I’d never be arrogant enough to dismiss one out of hand!

Gober my bad, question's the “consensus” cosmological model. Are we really flying through space on a spinning ball within an expanding universe, while free-falling around the Sun—all as a consequence of a “Big Bang” that supposedly occurred 13.8 billion years ago? Do we really occupy no special place in the cosmos, while living out random and fundamentally meaningless existences? Or are there problems with this scientific worldview? He deconstructs these beliefs revealing many shocking flaws and inconsistencies. Although he doesn’t claim to provide definitive answers, sometimes arriving at what’s not true is just as valuable. (Book sleeve)

Very true Anaya, man’s nature is sometimes to project onto others what he sees in the mirror to take the gaze away from himself, I don’t believe I’ve heard of Grober, but I have heard this kind of reasoning many times, but then I think (why anything at all why not just nothing) I believe we’re here because we have to be here, an inevitability of an infinite cosmos, which ultimately leads to a profound postulation, if we lived once why not a trillion trillion times in the past and future, we are part of eternity after all, mad stuff! If they did, they'd see what needs changing is the face looking back at them... him... whatever. I just had a comment removed from a blog. ha

if it aint broken then why try to fix it - looks like we have a result from admin that they will not change the current contest system. as ever blog comments have been removed but its a victory for those who enjoy the contests as it is. hugs jan xx

David....I had to read this a few times to understand that the small measures taken are really just window dressing. It's put in a very clever and funny way. I just saw you are in Ireland. Hopefully, nice being there. It's a beautiful place. BTW, smiles and thank-you for your kind comments!!

Heya Duke yes I live in Ireland, it is a beautiful place once you get outside the city, I always try to peer below the surface in my poems, sometimes I go below and off to the side and very few get me on first read, perhaps a hint of dishevelment in this one with a twist, great to meet you Duke, cheers David
