No Johny, No,No,No

I wish I had the guts to tell the neighbours how I feel
When little Johny's violin begins to scratch and squeal.
I know it's only early days but really even so
You'd think he would have learnt the skill of tightening the bow.
One day I thought I heard mosquitoes buzzing near my ear
But it was only little Johny getting into gear.
And first thing in the morning when he practises his scales
The will to live deserts me and my 'bon esprit' soon fails.
But as I am a coward I just put up with the din
And greet the neighbours sweetly when I'm putting out the bin!

Love it. Life gives us that which we must just put up with. And my friend quite oft it severely tests our patience and humanity to do so... A fav..

So cute and humorous Wendy! I can relate as I attempted to play violin in my youth, but it was too challenging! Congratulations on your wonderful first place win! : )

Yes, that would take a lot of 'guts' Wendy to really do it. But you did it so well through this great poem! Congratulations on your podium win! Hugs, Sandra

Congrats on your win, Wendy (maybe you could play a kettle drum whenever the kid mauls his violin-- bet the neighbors will soon sue for peace!)

Thank you so much for reading and giving feedback, L.J. My neighbours are actually as good as gold but I have known a few scratchy violin players in my time!

Ah, an ode to a soon to be concert star, Johny on the washboard, or maybe the comb, or the kazoo. Sounds like he won't make it on the violin. Such an enjoyable write. Congrats on your trophy win, Wendy!! ~ gw

I have received so much sympathy that I feel like a bit of a fraudstress!! This was a purely fictitious write and played beautifully, I am transported by the sound of this instrument, Gershon. It's amazing where the imagination can take you though!

Thank you for your fun comment, Richard. There probably is a toneless Johny somewhere but thankfully not next door to me! Just my imagination leading the way again!

That's very kind of you Maureen. Neighbours can provoke tension but thankfully Johny only lives in my imagination!

This was just a product of my imagination, and when played correctly, it is one of the most beautiful sounds of all instruments. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment.

Oh my u are a lenient neighbour and yes I'm like that too, I put up with a lot of neborly thoughtlessness even though they are quick to pick a fight if there's Sth in my house that troubles them. Ah nebors can be thoughtless. Your poem is crafted in awesome rhyming, creatively presented. I totally luv it. Kudos. Pleez do write your thoughts/comment under my newest poem too.
