No Greener
Stepping stones covered with moss
Across the little stream they went to their spot
beside the tree that resembles an inverted pom-pom
Streamers looking like green elongated feathers
Weeping willow, crying joyous tears
Mint and ivory comforter spread out atop lush grass
A tisket a tasket, inside the green and yellow basket...
fresh cucumbers, celery, bell peppers, creamy guacamole,
sweet honeydew wedges, limeade to wash it all down
Hours went by...they grazed and gazed into each others eyes
The bayou heat created a green haze around them
Tired now, they laid on their backs and smiled at the same sky
Emerald heart shaped thought bubbles appeared over their heads
Few words needed to be exchanged, just being together, was enough
No greener pastures needed
