No Bread. Why?

No Bread. Why? By Dane Smith-Johnsen Big round dark eyes staring at forgetfulness. Eating nothingness, feeling helplessness. Scavenging the streets for morsels finding hopelessness. Foraging to fill a swollen abdomen full of emptiness. Holding death securely within mothers’ bleakness. Too hungry to show love and too hungry to cry- But not too hungry to die- Why? Mankind’s blindness and heaped up forgetfulness, sighs.

sounds like a ringing condemnation of capitalism! love it again! Dane! I believe socialism has its merits... and answers to this dilemma...just not centrally controlled with corruption, like in Russia......and thanks for comments, jimbo

You wrote this sad commentary on the state of our society very well, Dane. On TV we see the pictures of children who are literally starving to death. These are images we can't forget, but sometimes we do turn a blind eye to things that seem out of our power to resolve. Certainly there is more each of us can do to help the mothers and children who are less fortunate than we are. God bless you for this inspiring message, and for being such a wonderful friend. Love, Carolyn
