For genuine admiration I need to add more reassurance phrases: ‘No, honestly, I absolutely think it is nice - I really do’ ‘Are you busy?’ means “ I’ve got a problem: stop and listen” Indirect way of implying concern for the other, but not really. But “ I’m busy” means “Don’t come to me to unburden, Don’t start getting emotional and all touchy-feely.” “How are you? Hey, lookin’ good” is a harmless salutation But please don’t give me any detailed answer, just nod. I don’t have time for a complete and thorough investigation Of all which is due to your health, your wealth and your God. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
