Oooh, the horseshoe is nailed into the hoof which i read is insensitive. I never understood a horse's biological dynamics, he can fall asleep standing up on delicate legs. Racing horse deaths are down by 33% finally! Tis blissfully done, Duke enjoyable read.

Tom, don't worry. I'll be back to that soon enough. BTW, Heather Cox Richardson has a free subscription to her daily newsletter. I strongly recommend it...as it puts current events into an interesting perspective. The bad things currently happening are more significant than most people realize. Take care.

Somehow I missed this one. Proper care of their hooves is very important, though not quite this luxurious. Fun write, Duke!

Lin, it's an art form in itself just taking care of those. The whole shoeing thing is remarkable. I'm thinking about all the blacksmiths who did all that work and did it with pride and care over the years. There are still some around. Of course, riders also play a part in caring for the feet and other parts as well. A lot of work indeed!!!

Anne-Lise, I imagine they do. I did see a remarkable demonstration of dressage at a horse recovery farm a number of years ago. The horse was crossing its legs, going at different paces, and moving in every direction. I was absolutely amazed. It takes a very special bond for something like this to happen. Smiles!
