Nightingale - Compression Poem

morning darkness
I hold her feather
in my city's dead breath
walking on muddy streets
her song heard somewhere
sweet where rain's left

I really like this - from finding her feather in the dark morning to the uplift from city mud just knowing her song is somewhere. Fave :-)

There is a tender sweetness and haunting sorrow in your words, Paige. I really like this poem. A fav for me. Even through there is a grayness in the city, the nightingale's song breaks through. Blessings!

Whoa, clarity despite imagery dominating is what you pulled off here. Terrible English but I'm not revising the sentence. I think Nette will groove to your poem.

Dear Paige, it is like a smudge of beauty on a cold, concrete lens. I love that phrase "city's dead breath", it perfectly captures the stale, stagnant air of an urban morning and makes the single "feather" you’re holding feel like a miracle or a piece of evidence from another world. Blessings, Daniel

Brevity is the soul of wit. Nicely compressed and sweet.

This is indeed short but very sweet. Best for a win.

Excellent compression, PH. Depicts her traces left behind. Beautiful second line. Xxxx
