Night Sky Musing

I looked up to the sky tonight and it was velvet black
it appeared so soft and smooth that I could touch it
it seemed that a hundred stars were blinking up above
but one was large and more brilliant and dazzling brighter
I am sure it was Venus shining down like a spotlight on me
and the dark moon was facing away and could not be seen
it was a magical sky and I could not take my eyes away
