Stars punctuate dark skies at night
our moon is such a wondrous sight
its luminescence gives a guiding light
to hunting owls as they take flight.
Gold stars twinkle much to our delight,
they provide us with a scintillating display;
our moon is such a wondrous sight
it glows until night turns into day.
I rouse from sleep, and then stifle a yawn
as sunrays herald the break of dawn
I open the drapes and espy on the lawn
a lovely roe deer and her little fawn;
they catch me watching, then are gone!
Our bedroom takes on a golden glow
as sunrays herald the break of dawn
through the window of our bungalow
I cherish every day that I wake in the morning
