Niagara Falls

Echoing
                                 loudly inside my head,
roaring thunder rushing through my veins.

                                       Powers are
                              chaining me mesmerized,
                         hypnotizing with a mighty force.

                                         Turbulent
                                thoughts are racing blindly
                             spilling into open nothingness.

                                     Crashing down,
                                   only to rise again
                             as an eternal magical mist.

Living in Ontario I can't tell you how many trips I've made to the falls with out of town guests. It is so amazing it would never seem old. You captured it well.

This poem only grows more powerful as it goes on. I must say your brilliant ending is like cream cheese frosting, or something that tastes equally as good.

Love this Brenda, I have never been to Niagara Falls except when I surf the web, but I did see a whole bunch of small ones in Oregon. There is something about a waterfall that is spellbinding. :) eve

When I am there I can hardly pull myself away. I stare at the water and feel the power. It feels as if I am chained to it.

They are so awesome Jan. I live not to far from them so every time we get visitors from Europe it's the first place we always took them. In 2012 I was there three times. I never get tired of them though and I'm as in the poem mesmerized from them.

Having visited Niagara falls from the Canadian side and having spent a night in my van sleeping in the parking area when a student, I can see and hear the magic that you so excellently depict here with your splendid writing, Dear Brenda! A seven! I am certain you know that in the Indian dialect "Niagara" means "Smoking Waters" which represents exactly what they are!

Yes Demetrios they are indeed. I have also been there several times as I live only a couple hours away. My sons is going there this weekend. I had the privilege to stay in a motel facing the falls last year. It was a dream of mine come true. It was breathtaking in the dark when they light up. Thanks for your comment.
