NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION This time I’ll do it, I truly will, I really will I know that I have made promises before When shame came after only a day or two When I’m back doing it the way I always do But this time, I’ll keep it going I’m sure Please don’t make your criticisms so shrill It’s all those promises I tend never to keep I mean well you know, but fail every time Is it having no stamina or just weak resolve But as an endless cycle will always revolve This time, long term success will be sublime They say, what one sows so shall they reap It never was alcohol abuse or even smoking Just keeping my word was all it ever was There was no need to get into such a state I guess I’m a self-delusionist kind of guy When my excuse was always Just because But swearing a pledge, you gotta be joking

I like your excuse 'just because' Here's my thought, "Just because other's have new year's resolutions, why should I." Why just one time of the year...I understand the intention, but typically the follow through is lacking. Rambling thoughts. Nicely done...enjoy your evening, Sara
