New Year

Yet, another year has come and gone Leaving some still wondering where it all went wrong Some say to themselves "thank goodness it's over, I'm glad it didn't last" Left with memories some good and some bad but, it's all in the past Searching for a fresh new start some anticipate another new year They cheer with family and friends in the present and are glad it's finally here Others sit with no one or nothing to toast to as they pour themselves a drink Praying this year will bring the change they need as their lonely vessel is ready to capsize and sink Playoffs for the Superbowl is nearing and soon another football season will come to an end Ice skates and pucks are on their way as hockey season kicks back off again Unlike these seasons and holidays you don't want your life to keep repeating itself like a broken record Learn from past experiences to push on to a brighter future, being fierce like a leopard Set obtainable goals or a habit you wish to kick for your new year resolution If you don't you'll surely find yourself in the same spot next year praying for a different solution Change doesn't occur sitting around on a standstill as life passes you by waiting for all of the answers to fall into your lap It takes some work, effort, drive, and determination on your part if you're finally fed up with dealing with the same old crap A new year isn't truly what's needed if you're looking for change and a fresh new start You have to have the will power it takes to get up off your butt and do whatever it takes following your instincts and your heart Strive in the present towards a better future and just do your very best Remember in doing so we are all wired differently so stop comparing yourself to the rest

Yes, everything we have survived through makes us stronger but certainly doesn't define who we are and it is never a good thing to stay stuck dwelling on the past... couldn't agree with you more Arturo! Best wishes to you!
