New Symphony
Engulfed in confrontation,
You selfishly embark on flooding me
With guilt trips galore
You use me
I am used up
Fascinating how quick you are to
Drive me into the corner,
When the last thing you ever do is talk
Sense
I need to flee
Before the anger reaches all of me
Before the truth reaches your ears
And destroys what is near and dear
I need a break from your soliloquys,
From your pointing fingers
From your polluted mind
You have polluted me
Of course you cannot see
I am used up!
I turn to the stars,
I feel so small,
Yet the world is ours
And sense is miles and miles of glorious light
I turn to the kindness of your smile,
To the orbs of compassion
The coldness has made me infinitely tiresome
But the tears you see mean something
Save me,
Salvage the last of my light
Search for the dreams beyond this fight
I never want to go back
I cannot bear to see that face
Try to look me in the eye and lie
Only truth in my stride relays to me,
We are not meant to be
You are holding me back and killing me
I am used up
And you are losing, see
I welcome the open air,
The aroma of rain
The warmth that life contains
To set the tone for this new symphony
It is brighter now
Without you
I am free
Give in, you cry
And to those behind
Who never see your side,
Say goodbye
