New Fall
Here's a new fall sonnet for a new fall.
Once again I am completely enthralled
Crystal clear beauty that is all around.
Multi colored leaves scattered on the ground.
Sun at a slant but with it's focus sharp.
Shines low on the scenes that capture my heart.
Frost in the air from advancing winter.
Just the thought of it makes my heart splinter.
Cozy nights knitting by the open fire.
Grandchildren things, they are my heart's desire.
New year ahead, new wonders to unfold.
Sometimes it is nice to be getting old.
Time to savor nature's gifts that abound.
Before I myself end up underground.
