As winter fades into spring,
Hearts impressed by the gentle swaying,
Dancing dreams, hasten to explain away,
Gentling shadows of yesterday,
Praying hands, folded and appealing,
To the love of One whose light is piercing
Through the darkness, through the doubting
Of those who dread temptation’s dealings,
The heavy hand of fear is revealing,
Moments, both precious and engaging,
Moments when love erases the feelings,
Frightful woes placed within the spirit.
As spring begins and the soul breathes easy,
Peacefully laughing, testing the sweetness of silence,
As she echoes her grace through the trees,
Trembling and dancing, whispering intently, blessings,
Stirring up the joy and praise from the heart,
Music in tones of a glowing love,
Conscious insights into those breathless moments,
Before time knew the reasons, the seasons –
Spring burns away the doubts, the despair, the darkness
From spirits who can see past winter’s bitterness,
Into the wonders of a dazzling sunrise, burning away,
Every dismal decay from the past’s embrace.
As spring turns to summer and the moments invite
Soundless freedoms like a sea’s laughing tide,
Melodies of rain, falling soft and gentle, sighing like evening
Can never wound the tranquility,
Built by soothing winds and shores of reasoning,
Blessings wild and eager to envision –
Beautiful moments, lingering grace on the waters,
Liquid loosed by summer’s hastening to divide,
The angry storms and the comforting joys,
The distant thunders and the lulling silence,
The aching tears and the inspirations from clouds,
Balanced in the skies, passing on by…
Giving faith a try – oh, faith, I must ask why.
As summer beckons to the fall, and autumn,
Turns the nights to a crispy melancholy,
Bleeding a shudder into the season’s reasoning,
Breaking apart the feelings of stillness, blessings
Felt by the heart who can see past pumpkin spice,
Into the eventual melting of a grief,
A lasting peace, peppered with gentle grace,
Erasing the past with the winds of praise,
Singing to the twilight, evening litanies, hopes
Far wiser than the mention of spring’s unrest,
Or the vibrant elation of summer’s wish,
As stars shimmer in the skies, beneath heaven’s best
Reasoning for the fall, when the soul is so blessed.
As autumn welcomes winter back to her thoughts,
She feeds the summer children snowflake promises,
And bleeds her fierce fantasies of glacial hopes,
Erasing all the potentials of autumn’s joy,
When casting shadows over the scarecrows
Caused dreams to spawn a castle in the sky,
One that reveals the mystery of God’s amazing insight,
His indulgence can be felt in the wind,
His compassion like a light flowing from the sky,
His kindness pouring out hope across the winter becomes,
More than merely an inkling, but a full fledged flavor,
The essence of winter, a hint of what it means to believe…
Even though it’s winter today, spring will surely bring its sweetness,
Summer will arrive with joy to complete the harmony,
And, once again, autumn will sign its name on winter’s litanies.
