Natures Offspring

warm spring day dipping toes in the cool creek I spot a geode; a large specimen, of crystals that I will clean and admire as it rests between my favorite amethyst chunk and the twin crystal, on my mirrored tile, next to the potted plants. natures’ offspring glitters in creek water sunlight reflects

I hope this is true; even if it is not, please don't spoil it by telling me because it feels true.

True, kentucky is full of them. Sometimes you find one cracked open naturally. I've found several whole ones, as well.

I wonder if there could be any gold there? I like this very expressive, creative and descriptive one that you have penned. I like these poems because of the combination of prose plus the Haiku. Your visit to my page was encouraging. Sara

Um, I'm afraid not, geodes are virtually worthless, but they are pretty to decorate flower pots and such with. The tiny crystals remind me of quartz, but they are a different stone.

Such brilliantly glistening verses in this very fine creation! " natures’ offspring glitters in creek water sunlight reflects"..... In my youth I would sit and watch the waters as they glistened me into a trance. What magical realms Itrodded during that spell. Afav--a true gem too. God bless...
