Notes About The Poem

Nature: This Greta Thunberg Equinox

Today a youth of the world stood up, 
Stood up against fat money cats,
And stared them down with words made of real, 
Accountable ecological facts,

About how the fat future of money is ending, 
A future without any trees,
How mass extinction is occurring today, 
With cash from the coal power disease,

And she stood alone, shaking against hate, 
Forcing fu***rs like Trump to run,
Back to his hordes of redneck support, 
Of religious who think he’s “The One”,

Today a small girl, who hates crowds of people, 
Stood alone and said what she said,
Demanding we all stand and give back her hope, 
And I stood because she is our friend.

I saw Ron Dump's tweet today he should be thoroughly ashamed of his comment making her out to be a 'happy young girl'. he is just a pompous oaf. I have great respect for t this remarkable young lady who is striving to make a difference before its too late.:-) hugs jan xx

Maureen McGreavy Pigeon Tart September 24, 2019 at 7:24 AM I've lost the sound on my computer (of course- hubby's away in Europe) and could only read her speech and it still drove me to tears. Then again every time they play it on the radio. And now, so tht's what I have to say about that. ;),
