Nature and Deity
Listen to poem:
Whenever I feel a bout of ennui
I open my window to grasp at affinity
I fill my lungs with the perfume of sweet pea
And say hello to the bumblebee and chickadee
Nature easily melts away any and all anxiety
Without a sign of apathy or apology
It somehow holds the only master key
To my heart and soul in times of adversity
Though it may occasionally seem like fragility
Nature is linked in so many ways to eternity
It’s in intimate communion with divinity
That’s why I’m such a hardcore devotee
Even if I just step out onto my balcony
It may seem like random fortuity
But there to greet me is my ancestry
In whispering trees willowy and billowy
And the moon always looks on wantonly
Calls out to me whimsically and poetically
With its feathery filigree of fantasy
I drink from the cup of harmony and serenity
