Nature and Creation Envy

I saw a dragonfly today

Skimming over the surface of a still pond

It’s beauty reflecting the light

Colours of blue, green opalescent delight

It’s wings fluttering as it flew effortlessly

It’s a sample of nature in full silent flight

It dances weaves, glides and hovers with ease

I wish this dragonfly was me flying freely

On a filigree wing so peacefully

I have a case of nature and creation envy

Yet can you blame me.

I love dragonflies; I saw one yesterday, and it made me feel so happy. Any dragonfly poem is a winner, and this is certainly one.
