Natural Opera

Sand Hill cranes winging, Honking not singing, My ears are ringing. Hundreds overhead, V form towards sunset red, Heading home, well fed. Strong wings beating air, Joy. Solidarity there. Nature, fine and fair. The sight fills my chest, Nature fulfilling her quest, I, an honored guest. for Carol Brown's "What's the Buzz"contest.

What a great poem for the mind to see. We have had flocks of wild geese going south for the past couple of months and it is just as you have written.

What a sight that must be. We have the big blue Herons but I only see solitary ones. We have swan and geese in large flocks. Great poem. Congratulations Love, Joyce

Beautiful description of the cranes flying in solidarity, Robert. I think we "class clowns" should "flock" together. (Pardon the pun -- couldn't resist.) Lovely entry for Carol's contest. Best wishes for success! Love, Carolyn
