Narrow Straw
I wake up weary
gnashing
mauling
get me
out of here
please
Daybreaks dustbin
as I lay there
on the pillow of my dreams
Not again
not this curse-ed sunlight
again
A vaccine please
to end this
this throat swallowing attempt at living
And I trudge through the streets
tired
some fume of spent
and spent will
slapped and knocked to left from right
the unfeeling daze
of to much intimidating
molested at every turn
Save me
save me the last drop of alcohol
pickle my soul
inject me please
with something at least
to fill me
in gurgling veins
with the bubble fizz of anything
Separate my eye lids
heads to heavy to lift
but suck on the straw of life
Yes, keep it up
keep sucking on that narrow straw of life
