Narrow Escape
With
terrified joy,
my heart wildly throbs and thumps
like that of a still scared bird
which has just narrowly escaped
from a trapper's deadly
snare
because
I never thought
that, when by you I got caught
as undeserving of your care,
you'd still give me a chance
and for me you'd
be there!
