Nambucca heads memory

At Nambucca heads, upon the shore are the beds where oysters were galore
I climbed upon them ragged rocks just
A kid, I got a shock, i slipped and fell and
Out i reached, grabbing the boulders
As i lost my feet.' Now oyster shells new
And old; are sharp and cut, some blood did spurt from my right hand that steadied me against worse hurt.'
So i had luck indeed i see, and learned a
Lesson for life; as you might see?)

Call of the sea has often appealed to the minds and hearts of young men, a river good enough if that is what's available. An extraordinary place with a long history. Read that %10 of the population are yet aboriginal. I remember the first eel I pulled into my small rowboat, thought I had a live wire. Good old youthful memories. Yes, those shore rocks and reefs can shred a body. My great grandfather, father's side, was captain of a tall ship in the Mediterranean. Went down with his ship in a storm. A wonder any us survive youth.

I would not have it any other way...even modern art I have begun to understand...though impressionism is still my preference. Have a great writing weekend, Joe.

Joe, this poem brings to life a vivid memory of Nambucca Heads, capturing a childhood moment with clarity and emotion. The description of the oysters and rocks creates a strong visual, and the honesty about getting hurt adds authenticity to the experience.
