Nadir

When melodies are gone And the cock refuses to crow When the storms come And the ship cannot sail When the streams are dry And there’s no water to drink When the clouds are dark And rain falls ceaselessly When the pocket goes dry And hunger comes visiting When the nights are long And sleep is gone When love is lost And loneliness beckons In gratitude lies solace For little gifts of life Day. Night. Sight. Breath.
