Mysteries of Life - a Collaboration With Chris Green

Spill some wine on this white cloth
So impeccable, too perfect
A painter's canvas, begging

Drippings of red, crimson stains
Vintage patterns seeping
Rose petal brushstrokes beckon

Fingers dip into warm, slippery
Strokes on virgin dust
Drawings, slowly becoming

Outlines of a past conceived
Figurines learning the creative curve of
Life’s mysteries blotted in endless possibilities

Yes, it's nice to have some mystery in life. Upon reading each stanza out loud, I pondered each individually. They all come together like paint on a blank canvas. Wonderfully done by two great minds :)

What a magnificent collaborative piece. It was a joy to see the vivid images, born from your unbridled imaginations, that you were cleverly painting all over the page:)

I love the imagery in this piece boys! I thought I'd be able to tell who wrote what! But no! You have really mingled together rather well! But I will say this, Duir! The 3rd stanza has you written all over it!

very absorbing progression of imagery building and building to its mysterious conclusion. Puzzles are the essence of poetry like a strong flavor that slowly fades as you taste and taste again.

I agree, but I also realise that my own solo poetry is perhaps not as puzzling as you would like :)

First let me say I read a draft of a poem and it reminds me of this poem, I am not one to believe in divine destiny, or the unexplained, yet at times like this, I know I know nothing. All that being said, this poem is absolutely amazing, and a great collab, I love to see such great collaborations, it gives me hope in the human spirit!

what.... no Darren. No offense at all. I hope I didn't offend you. I just meant the writing is exceptional and I am a better reader than writer thus I can spot poetry. Now I will meet you gladly and happily along the ocean blue. I'll be quiet now (lol)

I am serious Penguin. This entry is very explosive alive and expressive - it must be read that way with dramatics - I may not know how to write but I know how to read... PS I love the location. How grand is that. Very.

Alright now. I go away from the computer for several hours and what do I see. Allow me to tell you both. I feel passion. I read power. I see expression from two very talented poets whom I have the utmost respect and adore as poets and as men. In my estimation which means nothing, this entry is explosive. Without saying Darren and Chris this is an entry that must yes must be read out loud with emphasis dramatics power and pauses. Read back your execution and you will see. I have no more to say..... e x c e l l e n t - now when and where will the poetry reading take place....By the way hi to you both.
