My Watch

I have this watch I wear
That gives the time of day
Can also see the time of night
Because the face illuminates

One thing that it doesn't
That I wish it would
Is remind me of the time
That I should spend with you

You see I get so busy Lord
I barely have time to think
Living this life day to day
As if it were on the brink

If I continue at this pace
I'm not sure I will survive
Is this what they meant when I heard them say
This is the time of your life

I'm going to do my best to slow down
With your help Lord I'll figure out
What's most important in this life
And give the rest a long time out

So I'm taking the battery out of this watch
To remind me every hour of every day
To stop what it is I'm doing
And take the time to kneel and pray
