My Valentine Gift


For my valentine,
The focus of my desire.
Marquis diamond,
Twenty-four karats of fire,
You make fire and ice glisten.

Yowza...this one was a winner too, Samual! To place in Andrea's contest at all is an honor in my book. She really does know good poetry and is especially objective in judging it too...love the fire/desire couplet and I'll take a marquis diamond if you are passing them out next year too!! lol. It is not always easy to make a tanka flow and yours does brilliantly. :) Gwendolen
