My Sunday Morning Reflection

My Sunday Morning Reflection: In an attempt to reach my 100-mile goal and to gather inspiration and reaffirmation. As part of this April’s mental and physical reset month. I started walking each day. Typically, my walks have been later in the day as to give these old bones time to loosen up. But this morning I was up before the rest of the house, so I decided, instead of rattling around making coffee and being loud and obnoxious, I’d take a short walk through the countryside. I think that each one of us needs that time. Where we can block off the problems of the real world and reflect on who we are and where we want to go. As my feet tapped the pavement, disrupting the silence, the rhythm reminded of that old song ‘Sunday Morning Coming Down’ by Kris Kristofferson. How easily we could fall into the void of loneliness and depression. How narrow that margin is between who we are and the person living under the overpass. I know I’m always complaining about how the world is so filled with hate and negativity. How I wish I could go back to my childhood when people were kinder, gentler and more caring. But truth is, we don’t have to travel into the past to find those things. All we have to do is slow down a little. Open our eyes, our ears, and our hearts. Make an effort to just be kind and we will get kindness in return. Life still goes on and miracles still happen every day. In our busy lives, we just don't see them as clearly as we did when we were kids. ~Wake Up~ New morning awakes breathe deep the gift God gives— life is rebooted
