My Strength

Every step I take inside this valley
Makes me long for water and for rest
As I walk beneath the mountains shadow
I look up and know that I am blest

For you are the living waters
And you, every burden bear for me
Jesus with out you I would lay down
For you are my strength when I am weak
Yes you shine a light in darkness
And you break these chains holding me
Jesus your name grants me power
For you are my strength when I am weak

Every time I fall along the wayside
Your hand is there reaching out for me
Not only to show me the right way
You forgive the wrong and give me eyes to see

And this is my promise, this is my covenant
When I finally reach the mountain top
Your name I'll praise for the help that you sent
And if this climb seems to be too long
I will not give up... for when I'm weak you are strong!

For you are the living waters
And you, every burden bear for me
Jesus with out you I would lay down
For you are my strength when I am weak
Yes you shine a light in darkness
And you break these chains holding me
Jesus your name grants me power
For you are my strength when I am weak

Cast away the darkness ore me
Let me say they hold me no more
Heal this sickness no one else sees
Guide me safely to the threshing floor
Fill me with the light of your Spirit
Grant me the keys to understand your word
In my hands you place your power inherent
Your name, the sweetest sound ever heard
Yes you're all I'll ever need
For you are my strength when I am weak

For you are the living waters
And you, every burden bear for me
Jesus with out you i would lay down
For you are my strength when I am weak
Yes you shine a light in darkness
And you break these chains holding me
Jesus your name grants me power
For you are my strength when I am weak

Dear Crystol, YEAH! I am the first one to read. I love devotional poems and yours is such a beautiful testament to faith and trust in Jesus. I truly love your imagery of the valley, the mountains, and the living waters, which carries a sense of struggle and salvation. I also love your repetition of His power and light breaking through darkness and the promise of strength even in weakness. Truly, your words speak eloquently of a love that never fails. A FAV!! Winter Blessings, My Friend, Daniel
