My Start To Spring

The snowpack is finally thinning The sun has reappeared The days are getting longer Spring is in the air We have finally turned the corner Warmer weather is on the way The children are all excited as they head outside to play We'll celebrate St. Patrick putting Irish on display bagpipes will be playing in the first of many parades A green river will be flowing as will many pints of beer Today we all are Irish throwing racism to the rear We have finally turn the corner the day I think of spring families are reunited letting our heritage sing **Today is the first of six Irish parades and festivals celebrating the Irish in the Chicago area...the Chicago river will be dyed green...it has always meant the start of spring to me**

May I join the festivities my dear friend, Tim, and wish you a Happy Saint Patrick's? I recall in Montreal the parades and what was going on at the university! A good excuse to...be Irish that day! I love your poem! It is cheerful and uplifting! My the Spring come soon to you!

Sounds an amazing spectacle - not sure about the negative effects of colouring the river - but I guess they would say they are 'going green' lol:-) Hugs Jan xx

It is an orange disodium salt called fluorescein...40 pounds and it lasts for about 6 hours..they used to use 100 pounds and that would linger for about a week
