My Son-Impromptu

Its a matchbox, its a monster truck Its a game of hide and seek Its the holding him while reading As he gently falls asleep Its the good morning daddy Its the how was your day Its the answers that he asks me for That brighten up my day But most of all it still remains The I love you daddy With those little arms he reaches out Daddy can you please help me Can you turn on my favorite cartoon Son I'll always keep you safe There's no such thing as monsters Its the ball I have to chase It a game of rocket football That he always likes the best Its the tackle me, can we play Hulk The I don't need any rest The smiles that light my darkest days The pride of a little boy The knowledge he so fast imparts The meaning of true joy Its the ornery and the awesome That somehow I impart Its the best laugh in the world When he hears any fart It's the daddy wanna wrestle The can I get a bath Its the greatest love I've ever known That's forever meant to last The daddy can you show me how The I don't need your helps I'm both saddened yet I'm happy As he grows into himself
