My Son
No longer an orphan, my son, please know
That I will comfort your nights when fears call,
And teach kindness along the way, although
I'd let you brave life's challenge after all…
Yet kind we'd be, heart to heart, side by side
Playing rough- ball as any boy would do :
I’m now your father, your strength and your guide
Then hopefully the hero you'll pursue...
See, I am told that kids grow up quite fast
That one day it will be you in my place--
Forsaken you’re not, I'll do my best to cast
A mirror of me which fate can’t erase.
Let seasons bring us more joy as we roam
In a place where love abides; this is home.
