My Shadow

Why does it follow me wherever I go, And flicker uncertainly to and fro? A stalker made of night, perhaps. But when the lights turn on, it does collapse. But I don’t want it leave. It’s a companion, I like to believe. When loneliness begins to weave Sullen patterns upon my sleeve, My shadow seems to sieve The loneliness out of my soul. It keeps me whole. And that is its primary goal.
