My selfish Grief

So then, my grief, what do you want of me? To give my self up to your black despair? Or hide away from every memory that leaps from every corner of this fair but heartbroken home we shared together? To run from friends, to shun all human life, avoid all mention of that day – never remembering that once I had a wife? Oh no, my selfish grief, you will not take the happiness, the joy, the love she brought into my world. That you will never break. This is a lesson learnt, a battle fought. The time for tears has passed though may return. Never forget, this painful lesson learn Kim Helen James 19th November 2024
