Pat Adams Poet Quatrain

My Poetry Obsession

Poetry has become an obsession
An accidental  rhyme makes me wonder
How many syllables would that be?
It's something I'm forced to ponder

Pat, Pat, Pat!! What? What are you doing?
Why are you standing in water?
Oh I was, well you said a letter?
You got a letter from your daughter

Oh, yeah ok from my daughter
Hey, water rhymes with daughter, right?
How many syllables is that
Pat, come to bed and turn off the light?

Yeah, I guess rest would do me some good
With sleep I'll be ok in no time flat
OK, the lights off and I'm going to sleep
Wait, How many syllables is that?

I sometimes write on pieces of cardboard or whatever, without which, tends to leave me with really hard to answer questions like "What have I forgotten?".........Good to know it's not just another "Old Guy" symptom!.......8O)

Lin Lane September 19, 2017 at 8:54 AM I sometimes suffer from rhymistis and it's a curse to live with syllablemania. I've not found a cure, but I'd bet trying to sleep doesn't help. Closing the eyes sometimes makes it worse, especially when you have to search for a pad and pen. LOL at this one, Pat... Love it! Pat Adams September 19, 2017 at 3:38 PM Exactly!
