My Poem

(I don't see a Rondel form category so I am using "rhyme")

My poem is just a happy carousel
that merely wants to take you round and round.
It has no wish to preach or be profound.
So choose your favorite creature; ride a spell!

A zebra, elephant, horse, and gazelle
go up and down in rhythm with sweet sound.
My poem is just a happy carousel,
that merely wants to take you round and round.

This poem is cousin to the villanelle.
In days of yore in France, it was renowned.
With sole intent to pleasure, not confound,
It flows mellifluously, a rondel!
My poem is just a happy carousel.

Round and round like a merry-go- round. I spend my days in a sunrise mall as a kid in a carousel. Imagine the fun I had Around 6&7. Now I can imagine how fun your life is along with your poetry. Good one. About my little fan she is a sweet heart who needs someone. I admire her. I named her little''Little Blue Bird of Rain". She wrote a poem for me. (Destroyer-about a Poet). You should read it. Poet Queen. You get that alot, Right!. Truly your friend.

And I totally enjoyed the ride in your carousel! The flow of your poem worked really well, and I really liked the fact that you literally invite your reader to take that ride! Pretty unique approach! PS--I chose the elephant, btw ;) All the best in Brian's contest :)

What a great contest entry Andrea. It brought back some happy memories of riding the carousel many years ago. Horses were always my favorite animal. You have an amazing talent for different forms and I look forward to reading more. I hope this one is a winner. Love, Connie

Andrea. It is indeed! You are so prolific and have such a command of so many forms of poetry. Re: 'Papa was' -We were given the first line - 'I hold three stones' and then we were to weave a story. It was such fun. Love, lainie
