Notes About The Poem

My Perfect Christmas

I'd like to spend my Christmas by the sea
Where ocean foam piles up like drifting snow
Green coconuts were ornaments on trees
And eggnog is a very old Bordeaux

The ocean would come caroling each night
Waves shimmer just like tinsel in the moon
I'd swing on ev'ry star 'til they left sight
Absorbing all the peace one could consume

And if old Santa happened to drop by
We'd talk a little treason by the fire
I'd ask if he could tell the reason why
Peace all around the world would not transpire

But what I'd like is not what I will get
I'll stay home and have Christmas with my pet

Hello Daniel, this is a beautiful poem you wrote for Christmas. I'll be having Christmas Day with Maggie, and Bailey. Bailey is my god-daughter's dog. I buy them dog toys for Christmas. They open up their own gifts.I love this poem.

What an adorable beagle Daniel! They are such sweet pets. You could be describing my island for Christmas and I don't think I've ever heard it described as lovely. A charming wonderful poem Daniel! I need to make this fave! 7 ; )

Any day by the sea sounds good to me Daniel. I usually work Christmas Day. This year I'm off, so while the children are having dinner with Dad, I'll be listening to Daniel O Donnell, our famous Donegal crooner sing Xmas carols. Without even a pussycat to pet.

A creatively beautiful poem, Daniel. Talking treason w/Santa. C'mon! That is great creativity. Your mind is a wonderful winter wonderland. Outstanding poem, my poetic friend. Hope you have a happy holiday. Much love to you.

That would be a great place for Christmas. I have relatives in Clearwater and we always talk about spending it there. I'll be here to share some Christmas laughs with you D T. Have a great turkey day if I don't see you. Heading to Iowa in a bit to get the oldest.

Think of it this way Daniel, you could do a lot worse. At least you don't have to sit all day listening to crazy aunt Harriet talk about her hip replacement...

I'm not complaining Charlie. Ol Buddy is good people, he probably has better manners than most kids. He always says please and thank you and doesn't really care for sweets. That means, I get to eat all of the pies and candy:)

Yes, define good Santa and explain if you will why peace on earth isn't gift wrapped. A lovely setting, although I'm not quite sure I'm ready for snow, I'd prefer by the sea round a pig roast. :)

You're welcome to join Buddy and me:) You could have some spam shaped like a roast pig. We seldom get snow here. Shoot I might even let you sit out on the porch swing with us or better yet we could go to Walmart and race the handicap shopping baskets:)
