"The sounds of Earth is the music of my soul." A beautiful path I travelled, An oasis I have reached, You were, my love, waiting for me, I waited for you too. There were rocks which were rough on my feet There were thorns on the flowers, which pricked me to bleed, I stumbled a few times, But I didn’t stop, I didn’t cry, I knew you were waiting for me, I waited for you too. My path was uneven, My journey was tempestuous, My love was strong, My gaze luminous, The champagne light of autumn, mysterious whisper of twirling leaves, The turquoise waves lapping on shore, chirping melody by a tiny hummingbird, elusive dewdrops on lotus leaves..quivering, Earth's music envelops my heart, I knew you were waiting for me, I waited for you too. Notes: When writing a poem with romanticism as my theme, I thought of the legend of Radha and Krishna, the eternal lovers, from Hindu Mythology. Radha used to meet her beloved on stormy nights, when on the way, often her feet used to get pricked by thorns, and bleed. She never stopped. Their love and devotion transcended eternity. Thank you, Dearest Friend, for your exquisite comment. This poem is very simple in vocabulary, but probably it has been influenced by an Indian mythology. Read those mythologies in my childhood - comes back in all my writings. Love and blessings ~ Mala

Dearest Mala, you're are such a grand poetess so generous with your gorgeous imagery spilled for the delight of my heart's imagination! Your beautiful verse is enchanting and thrilling to my soul and my senses. "mysterious whisper of twirling leaves" - so evocative! I've heard those whispers in quiet moments amongst the shedding trees of Autumn.. your exquisite poem speaks to me in the same way. Warmest wishes, my sweet friend.. ~Susan

Dearest Susan, Your magical comments inspire me so much I feel blessed, although I may not be worthy of such encouraging comments. This is a very simple song which came to me at midnight, and in the morning I thought probably I can submit this for Constance. Some intense emotions have played in this poem - the images are a bit connected with Indian mythology (pricked by thorns) too. Thank you, Susan, for visiting and leaving such an uplifting comment. Love ~ Mala

"whispering of twirling leaves, The turquoise waves lapping on shore, chirping melody by a tiny hummingbird",..... you have distilled the most pleasant sounds from Nature and melded them into a sweet music. These are indeed sounds that will delight one and all. With this music enveloping your soul, your waiting becomes a lovely experience. Lovely poem, dear Mala

Dear Valsa, this poem just appeared in my mind at middle of night - like a song with the repetitions. I got it ready for Constance's contest later, when I found her form is "Romanticism". There might be many more exquisite poems from many talented poets - mine is a simple song of romance and love.
