My Observation Notes
We seek wakefulness. What does Barbados mean to me? It’s the hot sun, broad-brimmed hats, and old khaki pants. It's robust men with warm, undertone skin that blends with the cultivated land. We seek constant reassurance from those we love—that they will be there for us in both good times and bad, just to feel good about ourselves.
What does America mean to me? It means so much. It’s the place where I was able to educate my children while working from sunrise to sundown, enduring pressure and humiliation. Yet, every sunrise holds more promise, and every sunset brings more peace.
We seek solutions for all the hateful people. We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking that created them. We can’t sit back and do nothing or wonder when the racial hatred will end. I believe Putin’s war in Ukraine targets the wrong people; we seek justice for hate crimes.
What does Jamaica mean to me? It is the place of rhythm, swing, and dance, where one can fall in love today and be deceived the next. We seek answers, but only God knows that His creation is out of control. We seek peace, and peace comes with love. Where there is no love in one's heart, there will be no peace.
We all possess a little wisdom, but did we put it to the test? God opens millions of flowers every day without forcing their buds. Food for thought, my poetic friend: Be vigilant, be wise, and never trust anyone.
